TAIANA S.p.a.: textile heritage and innovation shape the new SS2028 collection
Founded in 1933 in Italy’s Como textile district, TAIANA S.p.a. has built a long-standing expertise in textile manufacturing, with a particular focus on stretch fabrics for womenswear since the 1980s. Today, the company combines this heritage with continuous research into new solutions for beachwear and sportswear.
Its offering is divided into two lines: BLU, dedicated to woven fabrics for beachwear and sportswear, and KINETECH, featuring ergogenic fabrics engineered for high-performance sports disciplines.
For the BLU SS2028 collection, sustainability is a key focus throughout the entire production chain. The collection draws inspiration from the latest beachwear trends, combining an elegant and sophisticated aesthetic with four distinctive womenswear themes: reinterpreted animalier, romantic journey, playful mood and lurex effects.
Yarn-dyed and 4Way printed fabrics, smooth and seersucker surfaces, 3D effects, jacquard and woven motifs define the collection. Particular attention is also given to the silk-making heritage of the Como district, with yarn-dyed silk-blend fabrics that reinterpret its Made in Como craftsmanship through a contemporary lens.
The menswear proposal is structured around three themes: Artisanal Nature, Joyful Men and Old Money Men. Classic stripes and jacquards are combined with micro and macro geometric motifs and playful figurative designs. Solid fabrics, prints, double-face constructions and 3D surfaces offer versatile solutions for both swimwear and leisurewear.
The collection is completed by KINETECH, the performance-oriented line featuring fabrics engineered to meet specific sporting requirements and representing TAIANA’s highest level of technological development.
The collection brings together textile heritage, creativity and technological innovation, offering a broad selection of stretch and rigid fabrics, woven and jacquard constructions, yarn-dyed and digitally printed qualities. Checks, stripes, seersucker effects, geometric, floral and fantasy designs are combined with small-scale motifs, large panel placements and engineered fabrics, alongside an extensive range of solid bases and bespoke development options.
Production lead times are approximately 6–8 weeks, with a minimum production quantity of 100 metres per colour.
