MarediModa Cannes grows: a successful edition confirming its central role in the industry

Cannes, October 24, 2025MarediModa, the leading trade show for fabrics and accessories dedicated to the beachwear, lingerie, and athleisure sectors Made in Europe, has reaffirmed its central role on the international scene. The 2025 edition, held at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from October 22 to 24, recorded a significant increase both in attendance (+3%) and in the quality of visitors.

“Over these three days, we have seen an increase in buyers compared to 2024,” notes Claudio Taiana, President of MarediModa, “particularly in the high and upper-medium segments of the market, with strong participation from major international brands and luxury groups. Smaller labels and startups were slightly down. Italy confirmed its leading position in visitor numbers (30%), followed by France, Spain – showing strong growth – the United Kingdom, and Germany. Our traditional end-of-show survey also revealed a greater focus on concrete choices and a renewed creative drive.”

Among the highlights of the twenty-third edition was the Spring/Summer 2027 trend focus, curated by David Shah, titled “Making Waves.” A true call for change: to make waves means to go beyond the known, to challenge conventions, and to create a profound and lasting impact on the fashion world.

Three special projects captured the attention of visitors and exhibitors alike: FLASH!, ATH, and SEAM – three formats designed to transform fabric into experience, emotion, and tangible inspiration.

  • FLASH! celebrated the world of the sea with cutting-edge fabrics, exclusive prototypes, and artistic photo shoots.
  • ATH, under the claim “Freedom is not for sale,” explored the dynamism of athleisure, blending fashion and sport in a story of freedom and performance.
  • SEAM showcased the savoir-faire of third-party manufacturers, the essential link between creativity and production.

THE LINK 2025: Space for Free Creativity

The long-running The Link talent-scouting contest, dedicated to young designers from Europe’s most prestigious schools, also enjoyed remarkable success. The 2025 edition set a new record with 128 projects from 37 countries, confirming the competition’s international scope and cultural significance.

From the start, The Link has championed freedom of expression and experimentation, encouraging emerging talents to reinvent the codes of beachwear, lingerie, and athleisure. Many past winners now work for world-renowned fashion houses or have launched their own labels.

“Almost all of this year’s projects,” reads the jury’s report, “convey a positive and vibrant message, driven by the desire to rewrite the language of fashion with new symbols – brighter, more inclusive, and optimistic.”

During the event, the nine finalists presented their collections in dedicated spaces and in a widely attended fashion show, made possible with the support of MarediModa and its exhibitors, who provided materials and technical assistance.
