The LYCRA Company confirms its presence at Milano Unica in partnership with MarediModa

A dedicated Lounge Area to discover the new brand identity and the innovative bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber solutions.

Milan, February 2025 The LYCRA Company, a global leader in the development of fibers and fabrics for the textile and apparel industry, renews its participation in Milano Unica – the High-End Textile and Accessories Exhibition – as part of its official partnership with MarediModa.

As in the July edition, The LYCRA Company’s Lounge will be located next to the trend area, at the center of Pavilion 15, which is dedicated to premium European-made fabric collections for the Beachwear, Athleisure, Leisure, Outdoor, Citywear, and Uppercasual segments.

This networking space will feature video content showcasing the WE’RE ALL IN concept behind the company’s rebranding campaign and the latest innovations in fiber and apparel technology. A special focus will be placed on the bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fiber, which made its debut at the July 2024 edition of Milano Unica. This is the world’s first elastane made from 70% annually renewable, non-food-grade corn, available on a global scale. The company estimates that this new fiber could reduce its carbon footprint by up to 44%* compared to standard LYCRA® fiber, which is made from fossil-based raw materials, while maintaining the same performance.

To fully experience the benefits of the bio-derived LYCRA®EcoMade fiber, visitors to The LYCRA Company’s Lounge will have the opportunity to enjoy an immersive virtual reality experience. Through VR headsets, they will be able to explore the journey of Iowa-grown corn (USA) as it is transformed into a bio-derived fiber.

We are delighted to be part of Milano Unica once again,” said Alistair Williamson, Vice President EMEA of The LYCRA Company. “Together with MarediModa, this exhibition is one of the most important events in the textile industry, sharing our commitment to circular economy principles and environmental impact reduction. As a strategic partner in the textile supply chain, we continue to develop sustainable solutions such as the bio-derived LYCRA®EcoMade fiber to better support our customers.”
